Bought a camera kit online or from a warehouse store and run out of time, ladders or patience? We put it up properly.
The starting price covers mounting and cabling for a basic wired camera kit on a single storey home with roof access. It includes heavy duty Cat6 cable with proper RJ45 terminations instead of the thin pre-made leads that come in many kits, connecting the recorder to your TV or monitor and the network, and setting up the app on the household’s phones.
More cameras, a two storey house or longer cable runs add to the price, and the quote is itemised so you can see where. Our cabling and labour carry our workmanship warranty. The cameras and recorder stay under the maker’s warranty.
Before you book, send the brand and model of the kit, or a photo of the box. That tells us what we are working with. A few things are worth knowing.
Kits that come with pre-made cables often include runs of 18 or 20 metres, which is not always enough to reach the far corner of a house from a cupboard in the middle. We usually replace them with Cat6 cut to length, which also means smaller holes.
Some brands only work through their own app and cloud service. We can mount the cameras and get the picture right, but if the maker’s software has a fault, the maker has to fix it.
Battery and Wi-Fi cameras need a decent signal where they are mounted. On Ipswich houses with brick walls or a metal roof, the Wi-Fi at the far corner can be weak. We test the signal before the camera goes up.
The most common call is someone who has a kit sitting in the garage and no time to install it. The next most common is a half finished install, with two cameras up and the rest waiting until someone gets back on the ladder. We pick up wherever you are.
We also get asked to move cameras that are in the wrong place, usually too high to see faces or pointed at the sky. Re-mounting at the right height and angle often makes a cheap kit far more useful.
Sometimes a kit costs more to install properly than a better system would have cost in the first place. If that is the case, we will tell you and price both, so you can decide.
Most of them. Swann, Reolink, Eufy, Lorex, Uniden, Hikvision, Dahua and others. Wired kits are the most straightforward. For Wi-Fi and battery kits, check the camera will get a decent signal where you want it.
Hardware faults go back to the store or the manufacturer under their warranty. We can help you work out whether it is the camera or something else before you send it back.
Often, if the recorder supports other brands. Some kits only accept their own cameras. Send us the model and we will check.
