Goodna is one of the oldest towns in the Ipswich area, on the Brisbane River with the motorway and the rail line running through. Older homes, units and a main street of shops all sit within a few blocks.
Goodna sits on the Brisbane River at the eastern end of Ipswich City, with the Ipswich Motorway, Brisbane Road and Brisbane Terrace running through it and Goodna station on the Ipswich line. It covers about 7.8 square kilometres and has 166 named streets.
The suburb has a long history as a river town, and it shows in the mix of older timber homes, post-war houses, units and a commercial strip with Woolworths and IGA. Schools include Goodna State School, St Francis Xavier Primary School, Goodna Special School and Westside Christian College.
Goodna has a lot of older detached homes, many timber and some highset, along with blocks of units and townhouses. Highset homes have open space underneath that usually holds a car or storage, and it needs its own camera.
Parts of Goodna were badly flooded in 2011 and again in 2022. If your home is in a low-lying street, the recorder should never sit on the garage floor or under the house. It goes up high, inside, where floodwater is least likely to reach.
Goodna is entirely within the Goodna police division, which also takes in neighbouring suburbs like Gailes, Camira and Collingwood Park. These figures are for the whole division.
These are the property offences cameras help with most, as reported to Queensland Police over the 12 months to September 2026.
Break-ins dropped noticeably in the twelve months to September 2026. Home break-ins fell 25% to 164 and break-ins at shops and other premises fell 36% to 117, both well ahead of the statewide falls of 11% and 7%.
Other offences did not shift. Property damage stayed at 677, the largest category at around thirteen a week, and theft from cars held at 425. Car theft rose 3% to 234.

Not every crime is reported. Weekly figures are the 12-month total divided by 52. Queensland comparisons use the same offence types over the same months.

Cat6 run and terminated properly • often about half an electrician's rate
Modern IP cameras take their power down the same Cat6 cable that carries the picture, at a low 48 volts. That is data cabling work, not mains wiring. Richard holds ACMA cabling registration and has worked on computer networks for years, so the cable runs, the recorder and the phone app are all one person's job, and the bill usually comes in around half of what an electrician would quote.
Start with the job that matches what you need. Every install is planned around the actual property, so the quote fits your house or business in Goodna.
Cameras on the driveway, front door, side path, back yard, carport and shed. On highset homes the cable usually runs under the floor and up inside the wall, so nothing shows on the outside.
Shops, offices, workshops, factory units and storage yards. Set up so you can check the till, the stockroom and the gate from your phone, with recordings kept long enough to matter.
Cameras offline, recorder beeping, app not connecting, old analogue system gone fuzzy. We find the fault first and tell you whether it is worth repairing before any parts are ordered.
Bought a Swann, Reolink, Eufy, Lorex or Hikvision kit and ran out of patience? We mount it, run the cable properly and set up the app. Our cabling and labour carry our warranty, and the cameras stay under the maker's warranty.
Strobe lights, a siren and a voice warning that go off when the camera sees a person or vehicle where they shouldn't be. Built to make someone turn around before they reach the door.
Watch live or play back footage on your phone, tablet or computer. We set it up, change the default passwords and show you how to save a clip before we go.
On timber homes, cable can run under the floor and up inside the walls, or through the roof space and out through the eaves. Holes are kept to a minimum, sealed, and positioned away from the street side.
Units are simpler but need permission. A camera on your own entry can often be cabled from inside your unit, while anything on common property needs body corporate approval first.
For a house, cover the driveway, front door, side access and back yard, plus the underneath of a highset home. For units, the focus is your entry door and car space.
Shops on Brisbane Terrace and around the shopping centre need the entrance at face height, the counter and the rear door. Break-ins at shops and other premises fell sharply in this division over the past year, but a rear door camera is still the most important one for any shop.
A normal camera records the break-in and leaves you with footage of someone driving away. An active deterrence camera reacts while they are still at the gate: red and blue strobes, a siren and a recorded warning, triggered by a person or vehicle in a zone you set. We fit them on new installs or alongside an older system you already have.
“You’re Being Recorded and the Owner Has Been Notified”
See every camera live, get a phone alert when someone walks up the drive, and scroll back through recordings without going near the recorder.
Every system we put in across Goodna leaves with the app installed on each phone in the house. Live view, alerts and playback all work before we pack up, and we show you how to pull out a clip if you ever need one for police or insurance.
The camera works out whether it is a person, a car or a branch moving in the wind, and only the first two set off your phone.
Driveway, front door, back patio and side gate, all on one screen, whether you are at work in Brisbane or away on holidays.
iPhone, Android, iPad and PC or Mac software, with separate logins so the kids or staff only see what they need to.
The same standard applies whether it is two cameras on a cottage in Woodend or twelve on a factory unit in Bundamba. Nothing is left half finished, and you know how to use it before we go.
No conduit snaking across the front of the house. Cables end at a neat point in a cupboard, the garage or a small lockable rack.
What each option does well, where it falls short, and which one suits a property in Goodna.
Every camera has its own Cat6 cable back to the recorder, carrying power and picture together. Nothing to charge and nothing relying on Wi-Fi.
✓ 24/7 Continuous: Records all day and night, not just after motion.
✓ Zero Wi-Fi Jams: A cable cannot be knocked out by a Wi-Fi jammer.
✓ $0 Subscriptions: Footage stays on your own hard drive. No cloud bill.
Handy where a cable run would cost more than the camera. The catches are charging, signal strength and, with some brands, a monthly fee.
• Rental Friendly: Comes down when you move out, with no holes left behind.
⚠ Battery Charging: Expect a ladder trip every couple of months, sooner in summer heat.
⚠ Motion Lag: Most only wake up and start recording a second or two late.
Resolution, lens width, night vision type, detection and deterrence are picked for each position, not one model for every corner.
👁️ 4K vs 4MP: 4K gives you enough detail to zoom in on a face or a number plate.
🌈 ColorVu Night: A wide aperture lens keeps colour at night under a little ambient light.
🧠 AcuSense AI: Sorts people and vehicles from trees, so alerts mean something.
Starting prices, with exactly what each one covers. If your place needs more, such as a second storey, a long run out to a shed or extra cameras, it is itemised in the written quote before any work starts.
Mounting and proper cabling for a kit you bought yourself, whether it came from Swann, Reolink, Eufy or a warehouse store.
A wired PoE system with 4K cameras recording around the clock to a hard drive in your house. No monthly fees.
Cameras that flash, sound a siren and play a warning when a person or vehicle comes into the zone you choose. Built for driveways, sheds and side gates.
Four steps, no surprises on the invoice, and you know who is turning up.
House or business, how many storeys, what you want to watch and whether there is an old system already up. A few photos are often enough for a first estimate.
We look at blind spots, cable routes and how many days of footage you need, then put it all in writing at a fixed price.
Cameras mounted, cable run, recorder set up and every angle checked at night. The mess leaves with us.
We walk you through the app, hand over every password and leave you a number to call when you change modem or phone.
The person who quotes the job is the person who does it. No subcontractors, no labour hire and no one you have never met turning up on the day.

Zoo Computer Repairs has picked up a Word of Mouth service award every year since 2014. The awards come from reviews written by customers on Australia's independent review site, not from anything we paid for.
Given on the strength of customer reviews: turning up when we said, doing tidy work and helping out after the job was finished.
Reviews mention clear fixed quotes, cable kept out of sight and patience when showing people how to use the app.
