Camira is an established suburb of quiet streets and courts between Springfield and the Centenary Motorway. Most homes are straightforward to cable, and the driveway is where a camera earns its keep.
Camira sits on the eastern side of Ipswich City, bordered by the Centenary Motorway and Carole Park, with Springfield and Gailes on either side. Old Logan Road and Formation Street are the main roads in. It covers about 8 square kilometres and has 128 named streets, many of them short courts and closes off a few connecting roads.
Street names lean toward plants and flowers, such as Abelia Court, Acacia Place and Allamanda Drive. The suburb has Camira State School and a lot of green space for its size, with Camira Recreation Park, Langley Park, Bennett Park and several smaller reserves.
Most Camira housing is established single storey brick, on suburban blocks with a garage or carport and a side gate. A lot of homes sit at the end of a court, where the block is wedge shaped with a narrow frontage and a wider back yard.
That shape matters for camera placement. A narrow frontage means one camera can usually cover the driveway and front door together, while the wider back yard may need two cameras to cover the back door and the far fence.
Camira falls entirely within the Goodna police division, which also covers Goodna, Gailes and several neighbouring suburbs. These are division totals.
These are the property offences cameras help with most, as reported to Queensland Police over the 12 months to September 2026.
Property damage was the biggest category in the Goodna division, at 677 offences in the twelve months to September 2026, about thirteen a week and unchanged on the year before. That covers things like smashed windows, damaged fences and vandalised cars.
There was good news on break-ins. Home break-ins fell 25% to 164, a bigger drop than Queensland's 11%, and break-ins at shops and other premises fell 36% to 117. Car theft rose slightly, up 3% to 234.
Get a quote for your Camira propertyThese are offences reported to police in the Goodna division, which takes in Camira and parts of the neighbouring suburbs, so they are not Camira-only numbers. Not every crime is reported. Weekly figures are the 12-month total divided by 52. Queensland comparisons use the same offence types over the same months.

Cat6 run and terminated properly • often about half an electrician's rate
Modern IP cameras take their power down the same Cat6 cable that carries the picture, at a low 48 volts. That is data cabling work, not mains wiring. Richard holds ACMA cabling registration and has worked on computer networks for years, so the cable runs, the recorder and the phone app are all one person's job, and the bill usually comes in around half of what an electrician would quote.
Start with the job that matches what you need. Every install is planned around the actual property, so the quote fits your house or business in Camira.
Cameras on the driveway, front door, side path, back yard, carport and shed. On highset homes the cable usually runs under the floor and up inside the wall, so nothing shows on the outside.
Shops, offices, workshops, factory units and storage yards. Set up so you can check the till, the stockroom and the gate from your phone, with recordings kept long enough to matter.
Cameras offline, recorder beeping, app not connecting, old analogue system gone fuzzy. We find the fault first and tell you whether it is worth repairing before any parts are ordered.
Bought a Swann, Reolink, Eufy, Lorex or Hikvision kit and ran out of patience? We mount it, run the cable properly and set up the app. Our cabling and labour carry our warranty, and the cameras stay under the maker's warranty.
Strobe lights, a siren and a voice warning that go off when the camera sees a person or vehicle where they shouldn't be. Built to make someone turn around before they reach the door.
Watch live or play back footage on your phone, tablet or computer. We set it up, change the default passwords and show you how to save a clip before we go.
Older brick homes usually have a good roof space with room to crawl, so each Cat6 run goes from a central point to the eaves at each corner and down to the camera. The recorder goes in a linen cupboard, the garage or a spare room near the modem.
If an old camera system is already up, the existing cable is checked. Network cable in good condition can sometimes be reused for new cameras, which saves time and patching.
The usual layout is the driveway and front door, the side gate and the back yard. Wedge shaped blocks at the end of a court often swap the single rear camera for two, one on the back door and one on the far fence line.
Property damage was the largest of the five offence types in this police division last year, at around thirteen a week. A visible camera at the front of the house is one of the simplest ways to make a property a less appealing target.
A normal camera records the break-in and leaves you with footage of someone driving away. An active deterrence camera reacts while they are still at the gate: red and blue strobes, a siren and a recorded warning, triggered by a person or vehicle in a zone you set. We fit them on new installs or alongside an older system you already have.
“You’re Being Recorded and the Owner Has Been Notified”
See every camera live, get a phone alert when someone walks up the drive, and scroll back through recordings without going near the recorder.
Every system we put in across Camira leaves with the app installed on each phone in the house. Live view, alerts and playback all work before we pack up, and we show you how to pull out a clip if you ever need one for police or insurance.
The camera works out whether it is a person, a car or a branch moving in the wind, and only the first two set off your phone.
Driveway, front door, back patio and side gate, all on one screen, whether you are at work in Brisbane or away on holidays.
iPhone, Android, iPad and PC or Mac software, with separate logins so the kids or staff only see what they need to.
The same standard applies whether it is two cameras on a cottage in Woodend or twelve on a factory unit in Bundamba. Nothing is left half finished, and you know how to use it before we go.
No conduit snaking across the front of the house. Cables end at a neat point in a cupboard, the garage or a small lockable rack.
What each option does well, where it falls short, and which one suits a property in Camira.
Every camera has its own Cat6 cable back to the recorder, carrying power and picture together. Nothing to charge and nothing relying on Wi-Fi.
✓ 24/7 Continuous: Records all day and night, not just after motion.
✓ Zero Wi-Fi Jams: A cable cannot be knocked out by a Wi-Fi jammer.
✓ $0 Subscriptions: Footage stays on your own hard drive. No cloud bill.
Handy where a cable run would cost more than the camera. The catches are charging, signal strength and, with some brands, a monthly fee.
• Rental Friendly: Comes down when you move out, with no holes left behind.
⚠ Battery Charging: Expect a ladder trip every couple of months, sooner in summer heat.
⚠ Motion Lag: Most only wake up and start recording a second or two late.
Resolution, lens width, night vision type, detection and deterrence are picked for each position, not one model for every corner.
👁️ 4K vs 4MP: 4K gives you enough detail to zoom in on a face or a number plate.
🌈 ColorVu Night: A wide aperture lens keeps colour at night under a little ambient light.
🧠 AcuSense AI: Sorts people and vehicles from trees, so alerts mean something.
Starting prices, with exactly what each one covers. If your place needs more, such as a second storey, a long run out to a shed or extra cameras, it is itemised in the written quote before any work starts.
Mounting and proper cabling for a kit you bought yourself, whether it came from Swann, Reolink, Eufy or a warehouse store.
A wired PoE system with 4K cameras recording around the clock to a hard drive in your house. No monthly fees.
Cameras that flash, sound a siren and play a warning when a person or vehicle comes into the zone you choose. Built for driveways, sheds and side gates.
Four steps, no surprises on the invoice, and you know who is turning up.
House or business, how many storeys, what you want to watch and whether there is an old system already up. A few photos are often enough for a first estimate.
We look at blind spots, cable routes and how many days of footage you need, then put it all in writing at a fixed price.
Cameras mounted, cable run, recorder set up and every angle checked at night. The mess leaves with us.
We walk you through the app, hand over every password and leave you a number to call when you change modem or phone.
The person who quotes the job is the person who does it. No subcontractors, no labour hire and no one you have never met turning up on the day.

Sometimes. Network cable in good condition can carry new 4K cameras. Coax from an analogue system can be reused with HD-over-coax cameras. We test it on site and tell you what will work.
Often five. The narrow front needs one or two, and the wide back yard usually needs two to cover both the back door and the far fence.

Zoo Computer Repairs has picked up a Word of Mouth service award every year since 2014. The awards come from reviews written by customers on Australia's independent review site, not from anything we paid for.
Given on the strength of customer reviews: turning up when we said, doing tidy work and helping out after the job was finished.
Reviews mention clear fixed quotes, cable kept out of sight and patience when showing people how to use the app.
